Refund positioning

The refund policy is phrased throughout all emails, payment pages, pricing pages, and help articles as follows:

If you're not happy with the quality of this service, you can request a full refund within 14 days of payment.

Refund intention

Because we're an advertising service, and not selling a service with guaranteed results, such as a wine tour, I don't over egg the refund offer by calling it a "guarantee" or saying that it's "for any reason", "no questions asked" or "easy refunds" etc.

The refund is there to reassure the customer, not offer them their money back if they don't find a flatmate, which is not within our control. We can only control the quality of the service we provide (ie. the process), not the result.

Regarding our refund policy, our Terms and Conditions page displays the following information:

If you're not happy with the quality of this service, you can request a full refund within 14 days of payment:

  • When you request a refund your profile will be deactivated and your remaining service period will be forfeited.
  • The refund is available within 14 days of payment. The 14th day is 13 days after the date of your payment.
  • You can only request one refund per 90-day period. After 2 consecutive refunds, we reserve the right to cancel your account on Flatmate Finders.
