Home Description

Description of the home

Hello gorgeous humans, we are looking for a fabulous person to join our household in Dulwich Hill.

The house is a large 2 storey family home in a quiet very lush area of Dulwich Hill, close to transport and walking distance to Cooks River. We have large, light filled communal spaces, a record room, a lofty chalet style living room with aircon, small balcony and views out to the river. The house has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (1 with a tub), an open plan kitchen/dining area, solar panels which keep the bills reasonable, a glorious sun dappled tropical garden with a veggie patch, plenty of storage space and on street parking.

Location - We are 5 minutes walk to Dulwich Hill light rail and the the soon-to-open Dulwich Hill Station Metro line (with free Pink Buses express to Sydenham Metro running frequently until reopening), a short stroll to local cafes, bars and grocery stores, and across the road from Cooks River and parklands with access to endless trails and cycleways.

About occupants
The housemates- 3 cis women in our 30s/40s, a yoga instructor, artist and a nurse, plus our freckled mongrel Felix. We love our home, it’s our sanctuary and a very special place to cook, garden, read or cuddle the dog and have a cuppa. We welcome anyone who is creative, kind, open minded, loves dogs and can reliably support and contribute to a well functioning share space. We are a chill house to recharge that respects each others need for personal space, but still want to chat and socialise in the communal spaces.

Katie, (F, late 30's) recently started her new grad position as a Nurse at St Vincent's Hospital working rotating shifts (including night shifts). Katie has a creative background in vintage fashion and retail design and loves spending her spare time in the garden and with her adorable dog Felix.

Alana, (F, early 40's) works full-time in hospitality whilst dedicating her days off to her art practice and creative projects at her studio in Marrickville. Loves running along Cooks River and socialising with friends over for dinner.

Jess, (F, early 30's) Yoga teacher and support worker, early riser and early to bed. Loves a chat over tea, chilling out in the garden and at home.

Felix, (M, 1-2y), rescue pup which Katie adopted at the end of last year. Very affectionate, wants lots of pats and cuddles, sleeps most of the day. Rarely barks, ball of love.
Compatible people
We welcome anyone who is creative, kind, open minded, loves dogs and can reliably support and contribute to a well functioning share space. Unfortunately we can't take on any more pets in the house.

We would prefer someone full time working who is able to financially contribute to the shared costs of the house. Our lush tropical garden is also high maintenance, so the willingness to spend a few hours gardening and maintaining our little garden of paradise is important to us.
Description of pets
Felix is a darling. We adopted him at the end of 2024 whilst still a pup. He is affectionate and just wants pats. Spends most of the time sleeping but will come out for a hang especially if you are working on the garden.
