Home Description
Description of the home
Our home is a lovely federation era style semi in Ashfield. We are situated in a very quiet cul-de-sac.
OUR HOME: The entry way is sunny and bright. If you happen to be a smoker, you will have to smoke outside. We prefer that you not smoke in the house.
INSIDE: Other than your bedroom and our study, there are original floorboards throughout the living area. We have a lovely wide hallway and high ceilings throughout the home.
Our BATHROOM is small, but it's neat and tidy and has a bath with a shower.
Our external LAUNDRY has a SECOND TOILET.
The MODERN KITCHEN has a walk-in pantry, ample bench space and gas cooking. The DINING ROOM is adjoined to the kitchen and it leads out to an undercover outdoor area which is perfect for entertaining. We often eat our meals out there. We don't have a BBQ, but you're welcome to bring one along if you like.
BACKYARD: We have a small lawn area which is lush and surrounded by trees. Next to that we have a well established herb garden. There is a rainwater tank for watering the garden and a compost tumbler (which we have no idea how to use).
PARKING: There is no off-street parking and you will have to apply for a resident's permit from council. Our street is a 2 hour parking area Monday to Friday, there is unlimited parking at the end of the street. My car and Sean's motorbike occupy the driveway. None of our visitors have ever had any issues with parking. The space right outside the house is usually free.
DISTANCE: It's a 700 metre walk to Ashfield station, it takes 10 mins to get to Newtown and 20 mins to get to Central by train. The shopping centre (which has Coles, Aldi, & Woolworths) is only a 450 metre walk from home. Ashfield also has some of the best dumpling places on the planet!

Between us we have two boys. Dash and Obi are both 10. They are here about half the time. They are typical children. Like all kids they love making jokes, making noise and making a mess. They love Play Station, Nerf guns, drawing, building Lego. They tidy up after themselves but there's often Lego and cars to be found in random places around the house.

We probably won't get along with anyone who is controlling, right wing, a Liberal or One Nation voter or who takes life too seriously. Sean and I are fairly laid back. We like our home to be neat and tidy. We would expect you to clean up after yourself, as we do, which is pretty obvious.
It's great to socialise with flatmates but we understand that people also need space and time to themselves. We are a happy little family and you're welcome to join us at mealtimes, playing Play Station/games, watching movies. Our home is harmonious and we want it to remain that way.
We are open to having a flatmate with a pet. There is one condition - it has to be a pet that does not chase (or even acknowledge) cats. Gizmo is very old and has lived with many dogs and cats, but she is too old at this point to put up with any nonsense.
We also have a sausage dog named 'Charlie Barker' who is a rescue dog. He is about 4 years old. Barker likes to bark. He's friendly and he has a lot to say to new people.
