I'm a dual citizen, Australian/American, quite left leaning politically and I love a wide variety of music. I can't carry a tune to save my life and may blush a bit if you overhear me singing out loud.
My full time work for a much loved national charity keeps me super busy during the week and you may find me occasionally working from home. I love to walk. So much so that nearly ten years ago I gave up owning a car.
In my work I am super organised, as I am an Exec Assistant to the CEO. In my home life, I'm neat and tidy but certainly not anal. Am quite easy to get along with and am seeking a new housemate as my good friend and current flatmate is relocating to Melbourne.
In the summer I don't spend heaps of time at home - preferring to be out and about either at the beach or walking, walking, walking. In the winter I sometimes find solace hibernating under the doona with a binge on Netflix. I'm quite independent, with a strong circle of friends and family back in Chicago that I enjoy visiting.
I love a party as much as the next person but home is more of a calm and quieter space for me. I'm not loud, yep, that rare 'quiet American'. And although I like the quiet, that doesn't mean my housemate shouldn't entertain at home. It's all about communication, expectations and respecting that we are both sharing our living space.
Oh, I've also never been one to get all crazy about 'this is mine' when it comes to food or cleaning products and the like - ideally my housemate will be like that too. Milk, bread, eggs, tea, laundry soap, etc, we'd share what's in the house. Mostly, I think it comes down to communication. Having said that, if you are keen to source all your own stuff, that's not a drama for me at all. Like I said, it's all about the communication
