Home Description

Description of the home

Hey there, we're looking for a housemate to join us in our cosy sanctuary. Our place is a comfy home with lots of books, plants, and natural light. The house is fully furnished. There's one bathroom with a separate toilet. The lounge room/ kitchen is open plan - it has big windows overlooking the backyard, and heating and cooling.

The room on offer is medium sized and can be furnished or unfurnished. It has a built-in wardrobe and space for a double bed, bedside table, and a small desk and chair.

The garden is a bit of a joyful mess and includes fruit trees, edible flowers, some local native plants, and a street library. The backyard is in a bit of a holding pattern while we work on a permaculture design.

The house is in a great location a short walk to the Werribee river, the local ice-cream shop, several little parks, and three different busses. It's a 5 min drive or an 8 min bike ride to the nearest supermarket, and similar distance to Pacific Werribee. Werribee train station is a 10 min drive or a 15 min bike ride.

About occupants
Laura - I love to read, make things, ride my bike, hang out with my dog, learn about birds and local plants, and go on ridiculous boating adventures. I'm a professional with a steady income and I own the house.

Roger - is dealing with some chronic health stuff. Likes a casual chat about all kinds of things and some quiet time too. Engaged with community and environmental things and is quite into home and community food gardening and permaculture.
Compatible people
We are hoping to live with someone who knows how to do their share of the cleaning, can communicate calmly and respectfully, and respects the boundaries of others. It's a big plus if you've lived in sharehouses before.

We won't live with smokers/ vapers, or people who are racist, sexist, or homophobic. Those things are deal breakers sorry.
Description of pets
Bilbo - is a 1.5 year-old Lagotto Romagnolo / Aussie Shepherd cross. He's been described as "delightful" and "very social". Bilbo loves other dogs so we might be able to accept another dog after doing a meet and greet to make sure they get along.
