Home Description
Description of the home
One of 14 flats. A PT user's dream with Dennis Station (on the Hurstbridge line) at the end of the street. 250 and 251 bus stop at the other end of the street. 15 minute walk to Westgarth (or catch the train one stop) for an 86 tram stop, Terra Madre organic supermarket, and the Palace Cinema Westgarth. 15 minute walk (or catch the train one stop) to Fairfield in the other direction for IGA and other shops and restaurants. Quiet neighbourhood, and quiet friendly neighbours. Old fashioned double brick walls means I rarely hear my neighbours unless they are chatting to each other outside. Previous owner installed split system air con in the living area before they sold the property last year. A set of two Coles supermarkets (yes I know...bad luck if you prefer Woollies!) at Northcote Plaza, a 10 minute drive or a 30 minute walk.
On the not so plus side I live in an old, rather neglected, (by the previous owners) building
The new owners increased the rent to $480 (from $320) a week (along with all the other tenants). I love living in this location so I am looking for someone to help me out with rent. Hence the need to find someone to cover the increase rather than half the rent. The new owner has made some improvements since they took over and have promised to continue to do so. Fingers crossed!

My previous flat mate, on a working holiday visa, moved back to Japan last month. It was nice having someone to chat to and show around the city. Showed me that a flat mate is more than just someone to share rent, also someone to share the space. Hopefully you will looking for some degree of companionship too, rather than just a space to rent.
One of the reasons I love living at this location is the convenient access to the city as I am more of a city boy than a country boy. I love to see any kind of live performance when I can afford the tix, also access the IMAX cinema for blockbusters and the Palace Cinema in Westgarth for indie films. I am a bit of a wannabe film maker and composer and do some composing on Logic Pro. My dream is to go viral on Youtube but my voice is crap. Big plus if you can sing and help me out ;-)
Helping others is my raison d'etre so I do voluntary work when I have time and energy. On a government aged pension but also have a part time job as admin officer with a non-for-profit organization supporting young people transition from school to work.
A bit sound sensitive so a heads-up that I prefer silence to background noise or music (emphasis on 'background')
