Other information
The room is the smallest in the house which is cosy and quiet being set back from the street. It will fit a double bed and bedside with a small wardrobe or clothing rack. Or a single bed with all that plus a desk. It has great hydronic heating and stays the coolest out of all the rooms in the summer. The window looks out inot a walkway/fence but you can still see the sky! There’s a floor plan with measurements in the photo section.

Bond is $712.60

Description of the home

*Yes, it's still available! Please include in your message a little bit about yourself and what you are looking for in a house. Please be aware this is a very small room and not a large house so would suit someone with an active life outside of the house. There is no storage in the house so you need to be a bit of a minimalist, we have all the furniture we require.

Our home is a lovely light-filled, 5 bedroom Victorian terrace with a rear 80's extension. A bright kitchen and lounge with floor to ceiling windows overlooking a courtyard garden. It's in a great location, close to Lygon St shops, a supermarket, Cinema Nova, and a short stroll to Royal and Princes Parks and the Carlton and Exhibition Gardens.

Car parking permit available.

About the occupants
While we have independent lives, we're friendly, sociable and enjoy household catch ups on occasion. We're early risers, so we enjoy a quiet house during the evening/night. During the day it's pretty peaceful too, and we like it like that. We are all either non-drinkers or occasional drinkers and looking for the same. Decisions concerning the running of the house are collaborative and consensual.

A bit about us:

Hi, I'm Stephen, I’m in my late 40's and am working in the field of architecture. Quiet but social, into healthy living and am environmentally conscious. I am independent and have a busy schedule but love our random household kitchen chats. I spend my down-time playing guitar and bass (with headphones), playing in bands, reading, and a bit of fitness/dancing.

Hi, I’m Helen and I’m in my early 60's. I write part-time from home. I love exploring Melbourne’s green spaces, seeing friends and reading. I live quietly but love the camaraderie of a shared household.

Hi, I’m Himanshu. I’m in my early 30s and work as a Graduate of Architecture. I lead an easygoing lifestyle. During my free time, I enjoy sketching, watching movies, and exploring new places. While I tend to keep busy, I also appreciate engaging in conversations every now and then.

Hi, I’m Mary, early 60's, a trainer and facilitator with a passion for healthy living, authentic conversations, reading books (meaning of life and novels mainly) and dance. I value a welcoming/community vibe at home where people are considerate, playful, reflective and generous. And I also enjoy spontaneous conversations and shared meals when trajectories coincide.
Compatible people
Looking to share with a kind, considerate, and friendly person who is looking for a home, not just a room. Someone who:

> enjoys living with other people and has the emotional intelligence to contribute to supporting a friendly harmonious home

> is seeking good communication and a collaborative, consensual approach to household decision-making

> appreciates a place that is quiet and peaceful at night (early risers preferred to night owls, as we’re often up early)

> are environmentally conscious and are aligned with our need (allergies) to have a chemical free cleaning and fragrance household. This is very important as they are very debilitating to one of our housemates in particular.

> are interested in a social catch up as a household from time to time (and isn’t looking for a party house)

> appreciate living in a shared-space TV-free home.

We’re looking for the right person … all ages will be considered. And we would prefer someone with the intention of staying long-term. :-)
