Home Description

Description of the home

Hi all,
I have one large room available in the leafy suburb of Reid for $370/week + utilities, no bond. Details as follows:
· Choice of two large north facing bedrooms (each 20 sq m) with built in robes that easily fit a queen bed and desk.
· Shared bathroom with the other bedroom whenever guests stay, otherwise it's all yours.
· Sharing with two friendly indoor/outdoor dogs (husky and malamute) and one human male.
· Other pets ok, as long as they get along with my doggies.
· 10 minute walk to the Canberra Centre, Civic, Braddon or to the base of Mt Ainslie and the Australian War Memorial.
· Shared kitchen, laundry, fully furnished dining room and lounge room. Plenty of space for more furniture and capacity for a large independent living area.
· Open plan layout, solar passive design. Well insulated roof and walls, and double glazed windows keep temperatures comfy.
· Solar panels reduce the shared electricity bill, and water and internet bills shared.
· Veggie garden (irrigated by rainwater tanks) in need of some attention so feel free to indulge yourself.
· Secure garage parking for one car. Security system with cameras.
· Currently on NBN FTTN but suburb is due for FTTP one of these days.
· Flexible length of stay.

About the occupants
I'm a retired public servant who likes to keep fit by walking the dogs twice daily, biking, squash and tennis. As a keen environmentalist, I also recycle and compost while trying to reduce my ecological footprint (within reason). Politics are definitely left of centre and have an inquiring mind for all things scientific.

I like to cook (desserts especially) and entertain the occasional dinner party, but not into loud music all night long. I'm a non-smoker (allergic) and indulge in the odd drink once in a while.
Compatible people
I'm very considerate of others and expect the same. Not a neat freak but expect others to leave an area as clean as they found it.
Description of pets
Snowy is an elderly white malamute who is very chilled and nothing bothers her much. Mia is an older black and white husky but still relatively energetic and very friendly. Yes they shed a lot but that's what the robovac is for!
