Other information
Your room is carpeted and furnished with a double bed, which I have sheets, pillows, and a large duvet/quilt. If you wish to bring your own that’s fine. An electric blanket for warmth is available if you want it. There is a bedside table with drawer and lamp, places to plug in computers or chargers, and a freestanding closet with two drawers for clothes. In summer there is a portable AC for the room if desired. The furniture can be rearranged if you like or to accommodate your own furniture.

Home Description

Description of the home

There is wifi throughout the house unlimited (NBN25) for studying, working or streaming. The kitchen is large and fully furnished with appliances like toaster, kettle, microwave, oven, electric stovetop, rice cooker, blender. I also have plenty of cups, mugs, glasses, plates, bowls, cutlery & cooking equipment which you are free to use but you’re welcome to bring your own as well. You will have space in the large fridge, freezer and pantry. The laundry room has a large washing machine but no dryer as there is an outdoor clothesline and indoor laundry racks for when it’s raining. There is also a laundromat nearby on Marion Rd. The house is a 2-storey townhouse with bedrooms upstairs, located only 10 min walking distance to Castle Plaza shopping centre which has a Coles supermarket and other shops & fast food places. It also is 5 min walk west to Towers Terrace for buses to Marion and the large shopping mall there. It is also 5 min walk south to a main bus stop on Raglan Ave and 5-10 min walk north to Edwardstown train station, so it has easy access to both the city or down South Rd to Flinders University.

About occupants
My name is Rebecca, I’ve been living in Adelaide since 2019, originally from the Gold Coast. I studied Science at University and used to work in a lab as well as tutoring uni students but since Covid have moved into working with pets as a minder, walker & trainer. I don’t smoke & have allergies, so non-smokers are preferred. I rarely drink, but don’t mind if you do. I also don’t eat pork or any pig products, mostly cooking chicken and veg. I’m happy to discuss dietary concerns if you have any restrictions ie coeliac, vegan, halal, veg, etc. I don’t have a lot of people over, occasionally my next door neighbours for a dinner, and am not really a party person. I prefer to read (the third bedroom just has bookshelves) or to relax watching a good movie on the couch or in my room, with my two cats Wonky and Saba cuddling up to me. The cats are indoor but do have access to the yard as they are getting older and can’t escape from there. I have travelled and had a lot of flatmates from around the world including Germany, Kuwait, Taiwan, China, Pakistan and India and like learning about different cultures, so international students or travelers are welcome. There is nobody else living in the house at the moment and I am happy to discuss your requirements if you’re interested.
Compatible people
This is a fairly quiet house and would suit someone who would like a furnished space with lots of amenities that you don’t have to maintain in order to focus on study or work. I am happy to have a friendly chat with people but also will be in and out for work so we would also have some space. I value communication and see a good flatmate as someone who would bring up any issues or feedback to me by text or notes, before it gets to be a problem. I have allergies and like to keep the place as clean as possible (with 2 cats) but I only expect a flatmate to clean up after themselves in common areas and in their own room.
Description of pets
My cats are quiet and shy, and will be more likely to stay away than get in your way. They are getting older and sleep a lot in comfy spots. I have a big orange boy cat Wonky who is very sweet and shy, and a tiny little white fluffy cat named Saba who is a little princess. They might warm up to you in time and like a brief pat but otherwise they do their own thing.
