Hi there, my name is Colin and I’m from Dublin, Ireland. I just moved to Australia on the 29th of December. I spent a few weeks travelling the East Coast and five weeks in Sydney. I’m now looking to find a place to live in Melbourne. Before I left Ireland I was working as a teacher, so I’m looking for a permanent role in a school.
I am looking for a place for a month or two. I am open to staying longer if I find the right fit. I am 31 and I enjoy living in a clean and organised space. I am a friendly, sociable person and I have moved to Australia for a more outdoor/fitness lifestyle. I plan on joining HYROX when I get on my feet.

Important personal qualities
Someone who is welcoming and lighthearted. I personally like to have things like cleaning rotas so that I can keep myself accountable for day-to-day tasks in the house, such as putting the bins out etc. I think it’s nice for these things to be split equally between people so that tasks don’t fall on one person. I like people who respect each other’s boundaries and who are open to communicating what these boundaries/preferences are so that nobody gets on each other’s nerves! I am quite an open person who does not get awkward easily so I would love to live with people who have the same mindset.
Food sharing and furniture
I’m not fussy when it comes to sharing food or arranging my own. I would go with the flow in this situation, depending on the preferences of other people. I suppose it’s more about the relationship you build with your housemate over time.
