About this person
Hi there and welcome to my TED talk.
About me:
I’m Liam, a generally optimistic, easygoing 25-year-old guy into adventures, motorsports, and photography.
I’ve just returned to Melbourne after 2.5 years living and travelling around Thailand and Southeast Asia, working freelance as a photographer. Back home, I work in the film industry, primarily in the camera and lighting departments across TV, music videos, commercials, and more. I’m extremely passionate about what I do.
I enjoy gaming occasionally, but I’m really into sim racing, which comes from my love of motorsport. If you’re into F1, WEC, MotoGP, or anything racing-related, I’d be keen to hang out and watch together.
Wherever I move, I really want to get along with the people I live with and be able to hangout. Good banter, movie nights, overly competitive mario kart, that kinda thing. Would be nice to become good friends :)
Why I’d make a great housemate:
1. Good vibes
I keep shared spaces clean, enjoy a chat, but also respect downtime. Chill, respectful, and I do my best to vibe with the house culture.
2. I come with goodies (if wanted, but don't need to bring)
Fridge, washer/dryer, crockery, tableware, microwave, leather reclining couch, and a hi-fi stereo system that’ll make your Netflix nights sound awesome.
3. I’m house-trained
Years of solo and sharehouse experience - I’ve never missed rent or bills and take pride in pulling my weight around the house.
4. People back me up
I’ve got solid rental and character references I’m happy to share.
5. Pet-friendly
Love animals (especially cats). I’ve lived with both cats and dogs and am happy to help care for them.
At the end of the day, I think being a good housemate is just common sense - don’t be an ass, and communicate clearly so everyone’s on the same page. Also LGBT friendly.
My current situation:
I’m not currently working paid gigs since I’ve just moved back, but I’m financially secure:
- I’ve got enough savings to comfortably cover 12+ months of rent and expenses (happy to provide proof), and
- I receive $902/fortnight on JobSeeker, so I’ve got stable income while I get back into work.
My original plan was to move in with a friend, but she had to pull out - so I’m looking for a room to move into this month.
- Budget: $280/week (can stretch for the right place)
- Within 20m from the city
- Ready to pay bond + upfront rent immediately
If you think we’d get along, or you have a room, I’d love to hear from you! :)

Important personal qualities
Common sense and clear communication are the most important things - making sure we're respectful of each other there. Otherwise it's all about being friendly, chilled out and having good vibes.
I'd want us to get along and be friends so some common interests would be cool too!

Food sharing and furniture
I've got a bunch of kitchen stuff including tableware, crockery, fridge, microwave, and some other bits and pieces. I've also got a washer and dryer if we need, as well as a two-seater leather recliner (home cinema vibes).
It's not necessarily stuff I need to bring, so just let me know what we may need for the house and I can sort it out for us!
