Seeking Peaceful Inner-Melbourne House Share
Hello! I’m a mature professional (52, female) seeking a respectful and peaceful house-share with another like-minded adult – ideally aged 45+ and also a working professional. I bring a considerate, responsible, and positive presence to any home and value mutual respect, cleanliness, and a calm living environment.
✅ What I’m Looking For:
• A private bedroom (ideally with room for a desk – WFH-friendly)
• Private bathroom or ensuite strongly preferred
• A tidy, drama-free, and respectful household
• Not a party environment – a true home
• Inner Melbourne or nearby CBD location (~15 mins or less, close to public transport)
• All-inclusive rent and utilities preferred (~$300/week, negotiable)
• An established, stable house-share arrangement
🧍♀️ A Little About Me:
• 52-year-old professional (single, no children or partner)
• I am a state government employee and also serve as a Case Manager and Project Officer for an animal rescue organisation.
• Clean, organised, respectful, and enjoy a peaceful home life
• Non-smoker, drug-free, and an occasional social drinker
• No pets of my own, but experienced with cats and dogs – happy to live with well-behaved animals
• Excellent rental history with both real estate agents and private landlords (references available)
• Financially secure – able to contribute to rent, bond, and shared expenses
• Own car and licence
• Interests include pickleball (2–3 times a week), board games, pub trivia, cruising, sewing, and reality TV (guilty pleasure!)
• Passionate about animal welfare – currently undertaking house and pet-sitting, with future bookings confirmed
🔁 Background & Availability:
Having lived in both solo and shared rental accommodation for most of my adult life, I’ve spent the past two years living with a close friend outside Geelong. I am now looking to transition back to Melbourne to be closer to work and community. I have a few household and bedroom items ready to bring, having streamlined my belongings for flexibility.
I am open to short-notice move-in opportunities and can be flexible with timing if the right living arrangement presents itself.
If you're looking for a grounded, mature, and reliable housemate who brings warmth, quiet company, and the occasional game night, I’d love to connect and explore whether we’re a good fit.
Let’s touch base and see what shared living could look like!

Important personal qualities
A good flatmate is someone who is respectful, communicative, and considerate of shared living spaces. For me, personal qualities like reliability, cleanliness, and honesty are particularly important. A good flatmate should be able to maintain a respectful and open line of communication, ensuring any issues are addressed promptly and calmly. It’s also important for them to be mindful of shared responsibilities, such as keeping common areas tidy and contributing to household chores. I value someone who is adaptable and willing to compromise when necessary, and who understands the importance of personal space while also being approachable and friendly. A positive attitude and a sense of mutual respect go a long way in creating a harmonious living environment.
Food sharing and furniture
I generally prefer to arrange my own food but am open to sharing occasionally, especially if we’re cooking together or having a communal meal. I believe in respecting personal preferences when it comes to food, so I’m comfortable either way.
Regarding dietary choices, I am not vegetarian or vegan (however my current housemate is), so I respect that and always aim to be considerate when preparing meals.
I currently don't have any living room furniture, but I’m happy to contribute if required. I believe in creating a comfortable and welcoming shared space, so I’m open to working together to arrange furniture or make the space more accommodating.

Description of pets
I don't have pets at the moment, but I live in a household with foster and resident cats, kittens, and a dog, so I’m a big fan of furry friends!
