Hello, I'm Rick. Looking to move end of August. I'm very busy until next week, but I'll reply to your message as soon as I can.

I had to move back to Gippsland in 2023, and I've found myself locked out of the rental market in Melbourne town. I'm currently boarding in the northeast with terrific people, but I'd like to be closer to the CBD for work and socialising. I work three days in office and two WFH.

I have lived in share houses before, with people of all backgrounds and ages. I'm looking for a respectful, friendly, quiet home, not just a place to sleep.

Very chill, clean, quiet, conscientious person. Always up for a chat and occasional meal, but mostly independent. I'm not a party person, except for a dinner or game night -- at that age where I need a good nights sleep for work. No gf or messy divorce, just chilling in my own space for a while. I'm over 40 but I don't feel it and still watch Studio Ghibli and read Calvin & Hobbes.

No smoking/vaping. Social drinker, but prefer a cup of tea and a lie down to be honest. I'm also allergic to perfumes, scented candles, etc.

After work, I usually hit the gym a few times a week, attend a board game night, or stay home reading, writing, learning to draw, and generally recharging. I love the arts, travel/culture, history archaeology, Josh Gates's Expedition Unknown, gaming and nerdy stuff. Weekends same or I'm down Gippsland way to visit my parents.

I really need to knuckle down in 2025 and focus on the writing. Looking for housemates who are happy with me doing my own thing most of the time. I need a good space to study in.

I don't have a car but I do have a middle-aged-uncle commuting motorcycle which will need off-street parking. Thinking of selling it next year.

If you have pets, I'm a cat whisperer -- and I'm good with dogs, birds, fish, reptiles, spiders... uh, maybe not spiders.

Just looking for a nice home with chill, considerate people. I'd like to be on the lease or at least see it so I know the rent is fair and square -- too many people subletting and taking advantage of the housing crisis.

Food: Independent but happy to share a meal. I've shared with a vegan and happy to accomodate my cooking/food.
