The second available room shares the fantastic outlook over the back yard, with plantation shutters over huge windows. It gets beautiful morning light and is a fantastic size: it comes with no in-built furniture but can take a queen size bed (or even king), a large robe, desk, TV stand etc. Generally, depending on male/female split, two girls will share the upstairs bathroom and a male will have the downstairs to himself.

Home Description

Description of the home

Our little Annandale house is a gorgeous, well-maintained traditional terrace in a fabulous location.

It consists of 3 stories, with living, dining, kitchen, bathroom and laundry on one floor, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom on another, and a third forming one of the bedrooms. There are 2 bathrooms, one with a generous 3-person spa (ooh la!) and a fully functional kitchen with dishwasher and Caesarstone benchtops. There is a sweet little deck and courtyard, and you'll hardly know you're so close to the city as we're surrounded by huge trees and a plethora of wildlife: you'll wake up to lorikeets, kookaburras, cockatoos and our own backyard possum.

Despite this the house is located in a fantastic spot only moments away from Parramatta Rd transport, Stanmore Station and walking distance to all the wonders of Newtown, Glebe, Forest Lodge and beyond (I even walk to work in Chippendale). It's a gorgeous, quiet street with lovely neighbours and excellent coffee and local breweries only a stone's throw away. Parramatta Rd is about a 60 second walk away and buses run from there to nearly everywhere, and it's only a few stops to Central Station and Sydney Uni.

There is unlimited on-street parking on one side of the road, and we have resident passes for the other.

Note that photos are real estate pics so not my furniture, but at least you can get an idea of layout etc.

Bills and expenses

Bills are $50/week in addition to rent, but cover all possible expenses: gas, electricity, water, unlimited internet, Foxtel, Netflix. etc. It includes our fortnightly cleaner: the number one necessity in an amicable share house! Out of this I also purchase all the shared necessities for the house: washing detergent, TP, paper towels, eco cleaning products, etc: we never run out of anything and you never need to worry about who pays for what! Any buffer from the bills is put aside for any emergency repairs to fridges, washing machines, etc.

About the occupants
Hi, I'm Skye, a 40 year old professional working in social media/advertising. I've successfully share housed for years in this current set-up and enjoy living with people who have moved on beyond party houses and want somewhere nice and quiet but local to all the good stuff like bars, pubs, cafes etc. I tend to work long hours and like just unwinding by watching some Netflix or doing my main passion, reading (the house is home to a huge book collection).
Compatible people
The house will suit someone ideally in their 30s, who enjoys going out and doing everything the area has to offer and wants to be near to the city for work or study. Ideally you work 9 to 5(ish) - it's a great spot for anyone who works in town or the inner west - and are equally happy doing your own thing or sharing a glass of wine after work.

Consideration and respect are the most important qualities - as is being house trained and aware of other's space. We'll get along even better though if you care about art, politics, social issues and like to read, listen to music, watch movies etc. This is a LGBTI-friendly house.
