Home Description

Description of the home

Looking for a great couple to join me in my sweet little Abbotsford 3 storey townhouse. I'm a travel photographer/ film-maker and actor and my current housies are heading back to London!

The second floor is an open plan shared living space with a modern kitchen and really comfortable living room + a great deck for these warmer months (wine and brews on the balcony). Big ceilings, HEAPS of beautiful natural light and wooden floorboards. I'm a bit of an art collector so the walls are filled with some great modern art along with my own work. This space is completely decked out, very comfortable, nicely designed and has great energy. Its a comfortable place and somewhere I want everyone to feel at home.

There's Netflix and a spare fold-out bed for visitors. I am a big fan of friends and relatives stopping over for a few nights here and there.

My living space is on the top floor with my office (I work from home), bathroom and bedroom. I'm super easy to live with and spend quite a bit of time overseas so often you will have the house to yourself. We have separate bathrooms and so it creates this really nice house harmony cos we have really distinct and separate living areas.

The location we have is unbelievable, walking distance to Yarra bend park, 30 seconds from a tram, 5 minutes to a train, the whole of Victorias St's cafes, restaurants and bars are literally metres away. Walking/biking distance to smith st and all the Fitzroy goodness aswell as the Richmond and Abbotsford scene. It's pretty much a perfect spot. The biggest warning is that you will eat out SOOOO much more because its fresh, close and cheap. (embrace it!)

Bills and expenses

Gas, elec + water are split evenly when the bills come in. On inspection I can give you some details on the previous months.

Parking is a bit tough. I have the single car space and we don't have a permit for street parking (council rules for townhouses like these). There's a lot of overnight parking on the adjacent streets so if you are working during the day there's no issues for overnight + weekend parking. If a night worker it becomes a little bit more difficult as sometimes the only available parking is 200m from the house. Saying that, that parking is un-limited. Ultimately, this is the drawback of living in richmond these days as apartments are going up everywhere and the streets arent getting any bigger.

About the occupants
Im a 35 year old travel film-maker and photographer.

I like to consider myself a very easy person to live with. I'm pretty emotionally intelligent and know when people need space, a chat or a laugh.

I'm pretty adventurous so love getting out and about and exploring, trying new things and just living life pretty fully. Don't enjoy drama and avoid it at all costs! I've ended up becoming super tight with all of my previous housemates and would consider them some of my best friends, so I've got a decent track record.

I've just got back from a bunch of cool trips through afghanistan, the alps, croatia and all around asia so if you're a traveller we will get along super well.
Compatible people
Friendly & relaxed without big egos. Easily approachable. Ideally I'm looking for people who are great to hang out with, love a laugh, are minimal drama and are relaxed interesting folks. Humility and adventure are really important to me and I guess I look for that in other people aswell.

Its really important that the house is a home, so not looking for anyone who just wants to spend 100% of time in their room and use the place as a sleeping quarters. Don't expect communal dinners and campfire stuff....but I like to be friends with my housemates and enjoy time together. I've got a solid whiskey and wine collection and am always down for a chat and maybe a sneaky documentary or show every now and then. Looking for people who want to be part of the crew!

Just looking for nice, well rounded, funny and switched on people.
