The room is currently furnished (there is a double bed, but could fit a Queen if you are bringing your own bed). The room currently has a dresser, clothing rack, and bed side tables. There are a few other pieces of furniture in storage which you would also be welcome to use (e.g. study desk).

We have plenty of storage space as well (the house has a spacious attic). So if you have your own furniture, we can put the current furniture into storage.

Plenty of parking available on the street, and in the area. There is also access via a back laneway, where parking is usually available.

Home Description

Description of the home

Large 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom multi-storey terrace house in Alexandria. 2 adjoining large dining/office/lounge rooms (1 with a fireplace), a separate entertaining/gaming room, a spacious kitchen with a gas stove, electric oven and a dishwasher. There is also a large attic space which has the potential to be converted into a useable space. The house is also situated on a double lot (something to consider when viewing the pictures); first impressions from new visitors usually result in comments such as “wow… this is massive/huge/so much space” and “this is such a vibe” and “there’s more?”, followed by “and a massive backyard?” 🤯.

This house has been designed with entertaining in mind. Sun hits the house from all angles giving us all day sun. You can chill out in the spacious backyard, or along the side terrace and tranquil garden in the hammock soaking up the sun. Take some time to relax with a book from the newly installed floating bookshelves, surrounded by (surprisingly thriving) indoor plants. The shared spaces are definitely designed with functionality, lots of storage, easy to keep clean, and minimalism to maximise comfort. Every part of the house, inside and out, is a space that we love (aside from the attic which is yet to be transformed/used for something other than storage).

Our backyard is perfect for outdoor dining and weekend shenanigans; it is big, which is rare for a house so close to the city. The backyard also has a large garden storage shed. Our laundry has a washing machine and dryer, and the backyard has an extremely long clothes line.

Recently connected to the NBN, internet runs throughout the house (average speeds of around 110/20mbps for the past month).

Moments from great cafe's, shops, bars and public transport. If the hustle and bustle of the city is what you're after, $12 in an Uber, or $20 in a cab will take you right into Darlinghurst. We are a 6 minute walk from Erskineville station, 10 minutes from Redfern, and 2 minutes from multiple bus stops that head in all directions of the city.

The local Woolworths/Dan Murphys is also only 2 minutes walk from the house.

About the occupants
Mitch - from the country. Like to have a good night out on the town with friends. Very sociable. Writer and musician, and enjoy a good tv series binge. His door is (figuratively) always open, so if you need anything just ask and he will go out of his way to help.

Brandon- originally from Perth and has been living here for 3 years (4 or 5 now, but 2020 doesn’t really count?), actor/singer. Loves music, books and fashion. Always down for a drink or a movie night. Would make a great addition to any trivia team for his pop culture knowledge.

Steph - The only Sydney local in the house. Steph is incredibly friendly, and loves a nice cup of tea. She is currently completing a degree in music production, and teaches singing. Other hobbies include: knitting, video game streaming, writing/recording/mixing/producing music, and brewing a lovely pot of tea.
Compatible people
We are looking for someone to fit into our little family and home. We are all quite outgoing and this home will suit someone who is friendly, and likes to hang out for the occasional family dinner and movie/games night. We have a collection of gaming consoles, and subscriptions to pretty much all the streaming sites; for any time you just want to chill out and relax.

We are looking for someone who works full time.

We like to make sure that the house is reasonably presentable/clean, so that we can have friends over for dinner/drinks knowing all that needs to be done is buy cheese and wine. We take pride in our home, and we are looking for someone who will love living here as much as us.

The house is huge, and has many spaces for us to hang out together or alone. It is very quiet, even when we have people over as they can hang out in the backyard or the entertaining room (and you can’t hear anything in the bedrooms); definitely not a “party house”, but the house is also ideal for having the occasional pre-planned dinner/drinks with friends.

We also spent some time setting up our tranquil side garden and hammock which is the perfect place to chill out with a book during the day, or a cute date night with the fairy lights on overhead. The backyard also now features 100 metres of fairy lights hanging from the trees, which are incredible; and a “disco tree”. The house has undergone a slight transformation recently too; think “industrial chic meets Marie Kondo, paired with smart/mood lighting”). So if you like the pictures of the house, it looks even better now (I have not had a chance to take new photos yet). Our home definitely does bring us joy 🙃.

Our house is a safe space for all: LGBTQIA+ community, and allies to apply only.

If this sounds like home to you, please send us a message! We can’t wait to meet you.
