Home Description

Description of the home

THE UNIT = Large dual level unit fully furnished (except for room for rent) with 2 bedrooms (each with own private ensuite and balcony), guest toilet, internal laundry, secure undercover parking, large internal courtyard with lots of natural light, all in a secure and quiet building within walking distance to essentials:
- Fountain Street shops (Woolworths and Dan Murphy’s), cafes and restaurants = 1 min,
- Bus stops at Mitchel Rd / McEvoy St = 2 min,
- Erskineville Oval / Alexandria Park = 5 min,
- Sydney Park / Aus Technology Park = 12 min,
- Redfern / Erskineville train stations = 15 min.

WORKING FROM HOME = Flatmates to use their own bedroom as the work from home office to keep common areas free at all times.

THE BUILDING = Located on the corner of Fountain and Lawrence streets (2-14 Lawrence St), the unit is positioned at the southern corner of the building, which is the furthest from both streets = very quiet. Vehicle access is off Lawrence Street via a security door, with secure undercover parking available for one car. Bicycle storage is also available within the secure parking area. Everyone who lives in the building are quiet, considerate and friendly, with approximately 50% owner occupiers and 50% renters like myself.
#NB: While there is lift at the opposite end of the building, internal stairs would not make this unit a suitable option for those requiring flat access.

About the occupants
Hello, I’m Peter the lease-holder of this property, I’m a single healthy male I’m looking for a suitable open-minded gay friendly person to share my large 2 bedroom unit, and maybe you’re the one? - Geese that sounds like my dating profile :)
I was born and raised in Brisbane, moved to Sydney in the late 90s, and after trying Brisbane and Melbourne both for 3 years I happily returned to Sydney in 2016.
Common words my friends use to describe me are kind-hearted, considerate, fit, and organised.
I consider myself as a social justice and gay advocate with a lefty preference, and go the extra mile to minimise my impact on the planet. I treat people with respect and honesty, and expect the same in return.
Health, fitness and well-being are my highest priority in life; I workout almost everyday, and I mainly eat clean foods with the occasional glass of red wine. I like to be active - preferably outdoors - when I’m not being creative on my computer in my room.
I work full-time for the NSW Government (Sydney Living Museums) mostly 8am-4pm Mon-Fri, and exercise (gym/home) before going to work.
I spend most week nights at home watching a little TV while I cook and eat my dinner, and prepare for the next day.
I prefer to buy and cook my own food as I often have strict dietary requirements, but happy to cook for each other once in a while.
I’ve been sharing properties since age 19, with approximately half of this time with flatmates and half with partners, so this is not my first rodeo.
I have travelled extensively in Australia and overseas, and often travel to Brisbane (where I’m from) to visit family and friends.
My friends are mostly professional males who are fun, respectful, kind and considerate.
We'll get along if we can be honest when we first meet so we are clear on what we both expect out of sharing a place together.
To maintain a fair and comfortable living environment for us both, having a partner / friend stay over more than a few nights a week is not ideal (two’s company three’s a crowd).
Compatible people
Non-smoker, pro-vaccine, non conspiracy theorist, honest, respectful, reliable, trustworthy, tidy, clean, polite, quiet; that’ not too much to ask is it? :)
This home is a quiet place to rest and recover from the outside world, and a place to enjoy social gatherings and special occasions.
You'll be a good fit in if you are comfortable with keeping the common / shared areas clean and tidy, contribute equally with weekly house cleans, respect a fellow flatmate's privacy, and treat the property and its' contents wth care and consideration.
I am open to adding additional items to the common areas of the unit that would not detract from the clean look and feel I prefer.
