The room opens out onto the balcony. It's large enough for a queen size bed or a double/single with a desk and hanging space. It also opens onto the main living area which is generally unused and could be converted into an add on space with a desk etc.. open to options. The main living area has air-conditioning, so on hot days/nights can cover that room and the bedroom.
Home Description
Description of the home
A beautiful large 3 bedroom Queenslander house with a large, typical Queenslander style, balcony around the front and side of the house - a lovely place to sit and catch the breeze! Large backyard, which is great for growing veggies. A small tool shed.
The room for rent opens out onto the balcony and a decent-sized living area, which is basically empty and open to someone making it a homely place. The kitchen is a great size, I think anyway, I love to cook! There is a small room off either end of the kitchen - one I use as a study/office/living room - the other is just a nook and I tend to use it as a laundry area (ironing board etc), it then leads down to the laundry, which then opens up to the backyard.
The train station is literally at the end of the street but far enough away that it's not noisy. The area is beautiful, with large old Queenslanders. There are a couple of cool cafes around, a brewery just a walk away (also serves good food), shops and a shopping centre between 2 to 5mins drive or approx. 20 mins walk. The city is approx. 1/2hr by train or 20 mins drive. The Brisbane River is not far and a lovely place to go for a walk, coffee etc.. there is also a park not far away and a public pool, which is great for laps and unwinding.

I am about to start at a new company which will take up a lot of my time. On weekends I definitely like to chill and regroup my energy. Iām working on a work/life balance and have started swimming of an evening at the local pool and I also practice yoga at home, when I'm organised š
I love to cook and am conscious of where our food comes from. The backyard is good for growing veg etc
I do love animals and used to have a dog - but I work so much that that just isn't an option at the moment. In saying that, not having 'a pet' has welcomed the wildlife that comes into the backyard.
I love music - I will be getting back into my piano, mostly old bluesy jazz - but I can put headphones on.
I love a good laugh and being happy. I also love depth, in a conversation, and open minds.
Creating a home and a safe place is key.
A welcome and warm place that is SAFE and happy.
Someone that is willing to pitch into the garden and keep the place tidy... in saying that, mess is life.. but hygiene is important.
I am open to shuffling things around to welcome someone to make this place their home also.
I like my down/quiet time but I also like conversation.. so a shared meal or not - i'm open to the right person.
I miss my queer/kooky family in Sydney, so I am open to that world - no judgments here! :)
Honesty, transparency, creativity and communication are key traits I look for in my community.
